CONSUME

At its most basic level CONSUME is a theatrical presentation of 5 pieces of music created by composers working under the influence of computers. It also exists as a workshop for meditation on (among other things) the role of technology in our lives, the heredity of compositional ideas, musical and theatrical experimentation, visual and sonic suggestion, and the audience as a consumer.

CONSUME features performances by

Rachel Beetz, flute

Clint Davis, keyboard

Ariana Lamon-Anderson, clarinet

Katalin Lukács, piano

Batya MacAdam-Somer, violin

Ashley Walters, cello

with

Nicholas Deyoe, conductor

and

Clint McCallum, actor

David Medine, live electronic sound

Jason Ponce, live video

Krista Knight, dramaturgy

and compositions by

Trevor Bača

Tristan Murail

Tristan Shone

Jeffrey Snyder

CONSUME is made possible by generous support from the Center for Research in Computing and the Arts (CRCA), the UCSD department of music, and local non-profit organization Wavelink.
